# Overview Bitcoin NFTs or Ordinals have been receiving a lot of attention in recent weeks. Ordinals allow people who operate Bitcoin nodes to inscribe each Sat with data, this data can be text, jpeg, audio, or video. Until recently, the process of acquiring an Ordinal NFT required using third-party services which made the process tedious and unattractive.
