# Overview

Bitcoin NFTs or Ordinals have been receiving a lot of attention in recent weeks. Ordinals allow people who operate Bitcoin nodes to inscribe each Sat with data, this data can be text, jpeg, audio, or video.

Until recently, the process of acquiring an Ordinal NFT required using third-party services which made the process tedious and unattractive. Ordinal Protocol was created to make the process of trading and creating Bitcoin Inscriptions easy and user-friendly.

Our Platform provides a secure wallet where users can easily store, trade and create ordinals in minutes. Users will always have full custody of their assets and can create as many Inscriptions as they chose.

$ORDINAL is the first protocol to allow the option to use ETH for inscription transactions.

The potential for the Ordinal market is huge and we plan to be the top Inscription marketplace for Ethereum and Bitcoin Holders. Oridinals are predicted to have a bigger market cap than all NFT markets on other blockchains in the next year.
